Chiropractic or chiropractic care

Chiropractic, chiropractic and chiropractic are all correct. Chi" is pronounced "ki". Chiropractic was founded in the United States in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer. Chiropractic is a manual health profession and a WHO partner. It aims to detect, treat and prevent dysfunctions of the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, in particular the spinal column...

Why consult a chiropractor?

Since 2002(Kouchner law), the title of chiropractor has been reserved for holders of a diploma. The most common reasons for consulting a chiropractor are back pain (lumbago, sciatica, neck pain, etc.), joint pain (shoulder tendonitis, knee and hip osteoarthritis, etc.) and muscular pain...

Interview with Elisabeth Jean-Charles, chiropractor in Paris, Orléans

Tell us about your profession, chiropractic.

Chiropractic is an alternative, manual medicine. It works on all joints, those of the limbs, back, jaw and skull, to bring the body into better balance. More importantly, chiropractic acts on the nervous system.

How does chiropractic work on the nervous system?

Chiropractic optimizes the flow of nerve impulses, enabling the organs to receive the nerve information they need to function properly. In particular, chiropractic supports the body's natural defenses.

Why consult you?

You can consult me for your well-being, to take care of your back, your joints, your muscles and also your health in general.

How is the treatment going?

I make adjustments to the spine, pelvis and joints.

Within the muscles, I seek out and treat areas of tension, contractures and trigger points.

Finally, I like to work on awakening, letting go, stress management and emotions. To do this I use (in addition to chiropractic care) EFT and simple mindfulness and relaxation exercises.

What I care about is taking care of the body and the spirit that inhabits it.

Does it hurt?

No, it feels good! However, when there is tissue inflammation, such as tendonitis or muscle contracture, certain manoeuvres, such as pressing a trigger point*, can be uncomfortable or even painful. In all cases, I adapt my technique to your feelings so that the treatment is as pleasant as possible while remaining effective.
